Our sustainability objective – across the entire value chain
At NovaTaste we focus on our efforts across our global value chain and at our sites around the world - where we have the greatest impact on the environment and society. These projects extend to the spices and ingredients we source from farmers, the materials from suppliers, transport to operations and blending and packaging of our products and solutions for our customers.
Responsible sourcing is a key pillar of this approach. Our Responsible Sourcing Policy defines how we procure goods and services in a responsible manner, taking economic, environmental, and social factors into account. Our policy outlines our commitment to sustainable sourcing, risk mitigation, and the promotion of good labor and environmental practices across the global supply chain.

Responsible sourcing for us means procuring our goods & services in a responsible manner, considering economic and social factors. We strive to make informed decisions, minimizing negative impacts and maximizing positive contributions across the supply chain.
We comply with all applicable laws regarding environmental protection and the handling of harmful or hazardous substances and take environmental and sustainability aspects into account in our activities and strive to minimize the adverse impact of our business activities on the environment and our local communities.
We continue to review and improve our interactions along our food and ingredient value chain to better meet customer, compliance and stakeholder needs farm to fork and for decarbonization.
Being sustainable starts with taking responsibility. By choosing our materials and partners with care, we endeavour to ascertain that every product reflects our commitment to people, the planet, and long-term progress.

We are proud to be partners and members of national and international organizations that represent the sustainability-led interests of the industry. Furthermore, we support local initiatives to ensure the quality and sustainability of our ingredients and products.
Examples of responsible and sustainable sourcing at NovaTaste:
Organic flowers from a family business in South Tyrol.
The flowers are locally grown and hand-picked with great care. The organic farm is now in its third generation of growing herbs and flowers to the highest standards.
Turmeric & Cumin from India
We source turmeric and cumin from India, where cultivation is largely manual and closely linked to rural communities. Through our supply chain partnerships, we support projects that improve access to education, strengthen school infrastructure, improve water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities. These efforts help create stable learning environments, support children's regular school attendance, and contribute to resilient farming communities. We work closely with local civil society partners to monitor progress and drive long term positive impact.
Olive oil from the mountains of Sicily
The careful use of Sicily's mountainous landscape and the meticulous harvesting and production naturally produce a fantastic organic olive oil of the highest quality. We select our suppliers in Sicily according to the strictest criteria and only buy the best harvests.
Yellow onion, Basil & Marjoran from Egypt
Egypt is a key origin for onions and herbs. In the sourcing areas of Minya and Beni Suef, public schools in rural communities require ongoing support to enhance students' learning, we contribute to an education support project. This includes improving resources, upgrading facilities, and ensuring access to essential services to create a more inclusive and effective environment for learning. These initiatives help strengthen education and well‑being in local communities connected to our supply chain.
NovaTaste Supplier Code of Conduct
As a responsible business, NovaTaste aims to fulfill the highest social and environmental standards across all our companies. As a responsible and sustainable company, we expect the same commitment from all our suppliers and that our suppliers strive to implement the same or at least comparable standards in the whole supply chain.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct provides a foundational framework that reflects our commitment to integrity, sustainability and social responsibility and applies to all vendors, suppliers, contractors, consultants, agents and other providers of goods and services to the NovaTaste group of companies.
