Sustainability

We’re thinking ahead

At NovaTaste we aim to craft a world of taste to enrich people’s lives with innovative food and base all our actions on our company values. Our objective is to do what is right for the planet and for the people. We believe that our actions today account for our future.

More taste. More enjoyment. More for our planet.

Put simply, sustainability means making our business future-proof for the planet and for people. We are working across functions and with countries to embed sustainability in our strategy and projects to drive performance and long-term growth.

Christine Crosby, Global Sustainability Director

More for the planet

We place planetary health at the core of the NovaTaste sustainability strategy. This transdisciplinary field focuses on the interconnection between human health and the health of our planet and its ecosystems. The NovaTaste sustainability strategy is a holistic approach to ensure the long-term well-being of both people and planet.

In 2025 NovaTaste presents its first global CO2 footprint. NovaTaste is committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions annually in accordance with the GHG Protocol. NovaTaste Materiality Matrix

Our double materiality assessment underlines our commitment to sustainability and shows prioritized ESG topics from 2025 onwards. Our 6 material topics were finalized following EU regulations for corporate sustainability reporting.

This in-depth analysis highlighted our impact on the environment, society, and the economy as well as the risks and opportunities related to sustainability.

The visual representation of the matrix shows the results of our evaluation and multiple stakeholder interviews with internal and external experts. Both, customers and suppliers were included in the stakeholder surveys.

This analysis and its results enable us to develop a clear, data-based strategy and concrete projects will be derived from it in 2025.

More for the people

At NovaTaste we believe in accountability and credibility. That’s why we have aligned our sustainability strategy with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We strive to define and implement projects across these areas with a focus until 2030 in these areas:

Decent work and economic growth
Responsible consumption and production
Climate action

We actively engage with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) including for training and capability development for sustainability.

Our majority shareholder is a UNGC member, enabling us to engage with the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative – for action initiatives, engagement areas and resources & training.

NovaTaste Environmental & Climate Policy

Our Environmental and Climate Policy (ECP) covers our broader environmental goals beyond climate change and greenhouse gas reduction and reflects our commitment to action and brief evidence of how this commitment will materialize in the years to come.

We recognise our responsibility to positively contribute to the environment in which we operate by driving sustainable development and promoting environmental stewardship. We have committed to fully integrating the ambitions laid out in our sustainability strategy into our business practices as well as meeting our legal & regulatory obligations.

As such, we have clearly defined our sustainability strategy and respective business practices in a group-wide Environmental and Climate Policy (ECP). We adopted this policy as soon as our sustainability program was launched early 2025. Our objective is to implement climate change mitigation and adaptation projects to exceed stakeholder expectations and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations for planet and people.
